The Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is excited to offer its members, clinical laboratories, health care organizations and accredited academic programs opportunities to apply for research and project grants associated with special initiatives.

Information regarding calls for submission can be found on this website and will be advertised through eNews and social media.

Mental Health Awareness and Promotion Grants – 2017 Winners

Scott Martin, Mandi Ayers & Danielle Bruce: Hosted a “Kick the Crap Out of Mental Issues in Health Care”, which invited World Shogun Karate Kickboxing Champion and mental health worker Martin Roberge to put on a seminar/fitness session for lab staff and health professionals at Bulkley Valley District Hospital

Judy Tran, Janet Day & Roger Boyle: Created a transformational event for lab staff and health professionals at Toronto General Hospital which included a Tree of Appreciation (notes of gratitude), and other promotional activities (free compliment recourses, posters, information pamphlets, buttons with “Our Lab stands up to Mental Health Stigma” and so much more).

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement : We respectfully acknowledge the CSMLS office, located in Hamilton, Ontario, is situated upon the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississauga Nation, Anishinaabe Peoples, and the Neutral Peoples. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon wampum, which is a treaty between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Treaty No. 3, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
