I am a laboratory physician specializing in microbiology and parasitology. I obtained my MD degree in Warsaw Poland and further specialized in laboratory medicine in London UK; years later I emigrated to Canada where I obtained my Canadian credentials and specialized in medical microbiology. I currently work as a medical microbiologist at Alberta Precision Laboratories and Provincial Lab of Public Health and Associate Professor, Dept of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, University of Alberta. My passion is medical parasitology and entomology, teaching and utilization of multimodal and multimedia technologies in education. I am also a mother of two very independent daughters!

Brady Rose has used simulation in her didactic Clinical Chemistry course for ten years. She has also created, tested and embedded virtual simulations into clinical and didactic courses. As a nominee for Simulation Canada's SIM Citizenship Award, she advocates using simulation and creating a community of professional Simulationists within the Med Lab Profession.

Analogous to the scene in the movie “Oppenheimer” where he is establishing connections between physics theories while lying in bed at night and not sleeping, that is me! I am a science enthusiast at heart. Over the years, I have worked a plethora of healthcare jobs including working in a Chemistry department, accessioning, Canadian Blood Services, and currently for the Prostate Cancer Centre. I live for making a positive impact in peoples' lives. I have received awards for science fair projects and am continuing to educate myself in the field of science.

I am a regulated MLT specializing in microbiology, parasitology and mycology for over 35 years at the Provincial Laboratory for Public Health in Edmonton, Alberta. I supervise the parasitology department, a volunteer lecturer, educator and laboratory instructor at several of the teaching institutes including NAIT, Concordia University and U of A. As a lifetime learner, I obtained my ART in Microbiology from CSMLS in 1993, my BSc (MLS) in 1999 & my MPH in 2008 from the UofA.

I recently presented at LABCON 2024 in St. Johns and LABCON 2017 in Banff; I was a convention speaker for CMLTA in (2005 & 2006).I currently sit on the newly established Education Subgroup of CPHLN " National Parasitology Working Group". I am a member of the Enteric Parasitology Advisory Committee for the Clinical Microbiology Proficiency Testing (CMPT), at UBC. I have been a past recipient of the A.R Shearer Pride of the Profession Award in 2007 from the CSMLS, which was a major highlight of my career.

Over the last few years, while balancing being a parent, spouse, MLT educator (at NAIT) and an individual Brady has made an effort to learn about self-care. She attempts to put these lessons into practice and now considers herself a recovering perfectionist.

Meagan is a recovering perfectionist and Instructor at NAIT in the Medical Laboratory Programs. As a mom of two boys, she has learned about the importance of self-care and self-compassion and reflects on how she has implemented this into her daily work practice.

John Buhler has worked in Microbiology for over 35 years. He has a keen interest in history and vampire folklore. John has been a frequent contributor to the CJMLS and was awarded the CSMLS Founders' Fund Award in 2020.

Hardeep Gill is a dynamic and results-driven healthcare executive with over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare. He is known for his passion for developing and implementing the patient centric solutions.

Hardeep holds a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University and a Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Beyond his professional achievements, Hardeep actively contributes to the healthcare community as a Member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. He is dedicated to fostering professional growth and development within his teams and the broader healthcare sector.

I am a 29-year-old female my pronouns are she/her. I graduated Oulton college to become a Medical Laboratory Assistant in 2014. afterwards I have worked from 2014 to 2024 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, I have also worked for a short time at the Bathurst regional hospital where my department was mostly dispatch and Chemistry. I have worked a lot in core lab where I learned a lot over the years about Microbiology and STI testing. I am now a full-time employee at the Esgenoopetitj wellness center on an indigenous reserve. As an MLA and Community health representative. I am always eager to learn about new advancement in the medical field, especially when it come to laboratory testing and research. I hope you guys enjoy my presentation and hopefully can pass along some knowledge about difficult situations where we had no contact tracing with a rising STBBI cases.
