- Ontario released its new budget for 2024 which includes investments in the profession with the addition of 700 new seats for allied health providers, including MLTs and increased spending on the Learn and Stay Grant supporting medical lab students studying in underserved communities.
- British Columbia's budget for 2024 included the expansion of bursaries for Internationally Educated Medical Laboratory Technologists (IEMLTs) and the addition of new seats for medical lab professionals. CSMLS' CEO, volunteers and staff met with party leaders, Ministers, MLAs, and senior bureaucrats in BC to discuss further solutions.
