University of British Columbia
Bachelor MLSc

  • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science. 2 – 4 years depending on already met requirements.
  • Applicants for admission must meet the requirements of either Set A or B (not both).

Set A, RT Route: Applicants must have the following:

  1. completion of the RT (general) diploma of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) or an equivalent diploma, plus
  2. completion of CHEM 233 and 235 (or 203 and either 204 or the combined CHEM 213 and CHEM 245) (Organic Chemistry), plus
  3. CHEM 205 (or 201) and 211 (Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry).

Set B, Science Route : Science undergraduates and graduates must complete the specific UBC courses (or their equivalents) prior to entry to the B.M.L.Sc. program:

 BSC in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)

  • MSC and PhD in Medical Sciences

Memorial University:
Graduate Program in Biochemistry

  • Located in Newfoundland
  • The Department of Biochemistry offers MSc and PhD degree programs in both Biochemistry and Food Science.
  • MSc –  The MSc program involves courses and a thesis and can be completed in two years of full-time study.
  • PhD –The PhD program involves courses, a comprehensive exam, and a thesis, and can be completed in four years of full-time study

University of New Brunswick:
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree(BMLS)

  • BMLS degree requires completion of the MLT program either prior to or after completion of 84 credit hours of courses at UNB
  • Foreign students cannot be admitted to the BMLS degree due to restrictions on acceptance of foreign students at NBCC-SJ

University of Windsor:
Bachelor of Forensic Science 

  • 4-year full time, undergraduate degree
  • The study of evidence for presentation in courts of law
  • Emphasizes the sciences including biology, chemistry or molecular biology/biochemistry

Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry

  • 4-year full time, undergraduate degree
  • Provides students with a structured program integrating biology and biochemistry with a focus on sciences that underlie health and biomedical research
  • Rigorous curriculum with integrated laboratory (experiential) components and flexibility in upper-level courses

Dalhousie University:
Bachelor of Health Science

  • Medical Laboratory Technology offered as post diploma program (2 years)

University of Ontario Institute of Technology:
Bachelor of Allied Health Science

  • Post diploma program  (Pathways Diploma to Degree)
  • Building on your diploma to develop an in-depth knowledge in health sciences and the theory base required for future studies or careers in a range of health disciplines.
