Ontario Advocacy in Action

July 04, 2023
This month, Ontario issued 1,000 invitations through an immigrant nominee program, which included invitations targeting MLT and MLA workers through the Foreign Workers and In-Demand Skills draw.

In February, CSMLS was welcomed to Ontario’s Legislature to meet with the Minister of Health, where we laid out our multi-pronged approach to stemming the MLT shortage. As this approach includes internationally educated MLTs, we are thankful to see your concerns were heard.

We have been calling for action on medical laboratory technologist shortages for more than 10 years, and we are grateful for this latest government initiative. We will continue our multi-level advocacy work in Ontario and across the country.
