Certificate of Continuing Professional Studies (CPS)

The certificate of Continuing Professional Studies (CPS) formally recognizes successful completion of continuing education courses at the advanced level. To obtain a CPS certificate, you must accumulate 15 credits for eligible courses taken within the last 10 years. The CSMLS office maintains a list of courses eligible for CPS credit.

Courses that are not on the list can be submitted to the CSMLS for evaluation. Please refer to the Course Assessment Handbook, available on this website.

The CPS can be tailored to meet your professional goals and interests. Two options are available – general and speciality/sub-speciality. CPS is available to certified members of CSMLS at a cost of $75.
