Call for Participation
The Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) would like to invite you to participate in an online focus group to discuss diversity training.
Background: In March 2018, the CSMLS received funding from the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) as part of its “Diversity Training Project”. The goal of this project is to develop two or three diversity products (derived from existing resources) which are customized to meet the specific needs of the medical laboratory technology (MLT) community.
Ultimately these products will be used to create a more inclusive workplace.
Composition of Our Groups: We wish to conduct three separate discussion groups. The three groups will be made up of the following individuals who are based in Canada:
Practicing Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT’s) educated in Canada
Practicing Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT’s) educated Outside of Canada
Time Commitment: The online discussion will occur over a three-day period. The discussion will begin on February 26th and continue on the 27th and 28th.
Each day, you will be asked to evaluate one or two specific resources and comment on their potential usefulness to the MLT community. These resources will be provided to you in advance of the session. It should take about 15 to 30 minutes for you to provide your feedback on a daily basis. Your time commitment will depend on the amount of information you would like to share and how much you wish to comment and interact with others in discussion group.
You have the right to provide as much or as little information as you wish. No question is required to be completed to participate in this study. No remuneration of incentive will be provided for your participation.
Note that this is not a live discussion board. Participants can respond to questions when it is convenient for them (24 hours a day over the assigned study period).
Confidentiality: All information will be considered confidential. Although your responses will be visible to other participants, you will not be identified in any way unless you choose to provide such information. All data will be aggregated for the final report.
Contact: If you have any questions about the online discussion board please contact our research consultant, Gerald Bramm: email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone: 1-877-624-2202.
