The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) has released its newest statistics on the medical laboratory technologist (MLT) workforce in Canada.

The Medical Laboratory Technologist Database, 2008 Data Release, details the number of registered MLTs in the seven provinces that regulate the profession (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta) as well as the number in the remaining jurisdictions that do not regulate. It includes data on their supply, education, employment, certification, and key demographic indicators in 2008.
