Learning Outcomes:
- Apply the hierarchy of health and safety controls in the laboratory environment.
- Understand the basic principles of ventilation, the operation of a fume hood, and the ways to optimize the protection provided by fume hoods.
- Follow the do’s and avoid the don’ts of emergency spill response
- Assess reference information in order to identify reproductive hazards in the workplace and to be able to follow the correct safety procedures for reproductive health
- Identify appropriate procedures for managing hazardous wastes in the laboratory
- Select, maintain and use the correct personal protective equipment.
