SART Tools

Are you an internationally-educated health professional interested in a career in medical laboratory science?
CSMLS encourages you to check out Self-Assessment Readiness Tools (SART© )!

The tools are available in both official languages and they can be accessed for free at the following links:

English MLT http://access.nscc.ca/cgi-bin/perl/MLT/index.pl
French MLT http://access.nscc.ca/cgi-bin/perl/MLT/fr/index.pl
English MLA http://access.nscc.ca/cgi-bin/perl/MLA/index.pl
French MLA http://access.nscc.ca/cgi-bin/perl/MLA/fr/index.pl

The tools are designed to help internationally-educated health professionals understand the requirements for medical laboratory science professions in Canada: Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA). The tools describe knowledge, skills and abilities that are expected of Canadian MLTs and MLAs and provide information to support migration to Canada for those interested in the medical laboratory science field.

The SARTs© were produced by PMA Health Workforce Development Solutions and the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) with content from CSMLS and project assistance and funding from IEHP Atlantic Connection via Health Canada's IEHP Initiative. Atlantic Connection supports initiatives for attraction, integration and retention of internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs) in the Atlantic provinces. More information can be found on their website: www.atlanticcanadahealthcare.com.
